MISSION STATEMENT

Marisci Dance Company (MDC) is committed to encouraging students to strive for excellence and enjoy the journey in dance along the way.  The club believe each dancer has the ability to increase her/his physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being through our different dance programs.  Our goal is to provide quality dance presentations in a friendly, family-oriented atmosphere.  The club promotes strong self-confidence, self-respect, discipline, and appreciation through the arts of dance.  We inspire every dancer to find the creativity inside herself/himself as “we dance to tell a story” each year.

In furtherance of it’s Mission and Vision, since its inception, MDC have consistently achieved several high rankings at different dance competitions against top high schools throughout Marikina and in the National Capital Region and have earned a solid reputation of “Dance Supremacy” in Division of Marikina. Among the top awards received by the club are 3-time Division Champion for Nestle Wellness, Nestle Wellness Campus 2016 4th Place National Level, 4-time Division Champion for Dancesport, Latin and Standard Category, and the Marikina Science High School SY 2016-2017’s“Best Club”

SALIKANA-BAYAN

Samahang Likha para sa Kabataan ng ating Bayan

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The SALIKANA-BAYAN (Samahang Likha para sa Kabataan ng ating Bayan) is a youth movement affiliated with the Religious Community of the Alagad ni Maria.  It consists of teachers and High School students who commit themselves to come together and respond to the call to serve people on developing themselves and becoming witnesses to the values that would lead to total human development especially of the youth.

OBJECTIVES

The purpose of this movement is to form the Filipino Youth Leaders who are:

  • Able to develop a reasoned commitment to the goals of National Development by inculcating, practicing and developing moral values, spirituality and other positive aspects of the Filipino Heritage;
  • Responsive and committed to the needs of the youth and can accompany the fellow youth through the struggles of adolescent life;
  • Capable of organizing peer communities which shall serve as venue for the formation and development of individuals through group sharing, feedback, workshops, lectures and spiritual formation programs,
  • Capable of building a community where values are further developed and enhanced through the sincere and relevant practice of their respective religion and sound imitation of worthy role models like Jesus Christ, Mary, the saints, the Filipino Heroes and etc.,
  • Able to form a fraternal (familial) praying and apostolic Christian community. 

PROGRAM OF FORMATION

The SALIKANA-BAYAN implements its program for the total development of young people in close coordination with the school administrators, parishes and other Youth Ministry groups.  The youth movement’s formation and ministry process is consists of a three-fold program and they are the following:

  • WINNING THE YOUTH FOR VALUES DEVELOPMENT

Recruit potential youth leaders for the school coordinating group of the SALIKANA-BAYAN who will be responsible to commit themselves to the objectives through moral values enhancement, spiritual development and other aspects that contribute to the development of the youth.  This is conducted through three basic organizing activities for every school in each district:

  • Seminar for teachers who shall serve as advisers and companions for each SALIKANA-BAYAN school chapter
  • Seminar for the potential student leaders. This is a basic training for students who would become our core leaders for each SALIKANA-BAYAN school coordinating group

Recruitment of young people for the school coordinating group of the SALIKANA-BAYAN in each school chapter

  • BUILDING THE YOUTH IN VALUES AND SPIRITUALITY

For we want a strengthened and enhanced commitment among the scholastic SALIKANA-BAYAN community members and pursue the objectives of the group SENDING THE YOUTH AS WITNESS

Activities that fall under this third and last of the three-fold program are:

  1. Quarterly assemblies or gatherings to foster cooperation, support and fellowship among the different scholastic SALIKANA-BAYAN communities;
  2. Organizing of activities for exposure to enhance leadership, relevant awareness and meaningful involvement in helping their fellow youth that is impoverished like prison visitations, rehabilitation centers, peer counseling, etc. Promoting active participation in youth activities of their own respective parishes;
  3. Conduct activities that raise the awareness of the youth which regards the problems they are undergoing, the formation and enhancement of values and to witness to an alternative lifestyle that promotes wholesome living and healthy development of individuals like: Poster Making Contest, Essay Writing Contest, Music Festivals, Dance and Drama Festivals, Sports Fest, and others;
  4. Involve themselves in activities that would enhance the spiritual development of the youth according to their faith and to deepen this practice of faith through regular occasions for prayer and faith sharing.

The Youth for the Environment in Schools Organization as a highly effective and respective school-based organization is linked to every other functions and institutions for the preservation and conservation of natural resources through sustainable development.

Objectives

  1. Be aware and create awareness in others of the state of the Philippines environment and ecology, including prevailing issues and concerns relative thereto;
    2. Establish specific and attainable programs; projects and activities to address issues and concerns on the environment and ecology;
    3.Develop among members and the school proper environmental values, skills, and attitudes;
